During 2019 a plant sales program was carried out by Rotarians For Bees. The aim of the program was to inform the public on the plight of Bees and Pollinators, and to raise funds.

Seedlings of Alyssum, Marigolds, Nasturtiums, Sunflowers, Lavender Blue, Rosemary, Echinacea, Lemon Balm and Borage were potted-up and raised at homes of Rotarians, and bee hotels were made in preparation of sales at the Camberwell Market. Information about the plight of bees and other pollinators and their importance to food production was collected.

Sales were carried out over 8 weeks from early Spring to Xmas and many visitors stopped by to learn about bees, pollinators and ask what they could do to make a difference. This was an excellent way for a Rotary Club to connect with the public and pass on serious environmental messages, and to encourage bee friendly planting.
