Powerful Pollinators is a program designed to increase the prevalence, health and diversity of pollinators in the landscape.  The Program encourages the strategic planting of ‘trees for bees’ and other pollinators, and provides Pollinator Planting Guides developed by experienced botanists and field ecologists for use by landholders.

The Guides specify relevant information about pollinator habitat and floral resources to enable users such as land managers, Landcare groups, nurseries and gardeners to select the most appropriate indigenous plant species for a specific bioregion that provide value for pollinators over the whole year.

The planting guides cover many regional bioregions across Australia.  The Wheen Bee Foundation continue to seek funds to develop more planting guides with the aim to cover all of Australia.  The most recent 3 Guides were funded by Rotary District 9800 to cover the Melbourne Metropolitan Areas from Bacchus Marsh to Eltham, Pakenham to Werribee, extending south to Frankston and north to the southern slopes of the elevated hills.

The planting guides are free to download LINK: website

IDEA:  So organize a Tree or Garden Planting Project for your club and use the powerful Pollinator Guide to help you select appropriate trees, shrubs or ground cover and help create Pollinator Pathways in Victoria.
